Russian FinTech Association Supports World Blockchain Summit in Moscow

The Russian FinTech Association (RFTA) is preparing to unveil its findings on how blockchain technology can be used for financial solutions at the World Blockchain Summit in Moscow on April 26 to 27, 2018.

Olga Skorobogatova, chair of the supervisory board at the RFTA, will open the summit with a keynote speech about ‘The Current State and Vision of the Moscow Blockchain Strategy.’

The RFTA is one of the organizations paving the way to digitalize the Russian economy. To achieve its goals, it designs and applies technological solutions in order to support the development of the country’s financial market.

Sergey Solonin, chief executive officer of the RFTA, said:

“The financial system governs the entire market and productivity of a particular nation. We aim to boost the efficiency of our national resources by decentralizing the entire financial solutions and services sector through the systematic and schematic implementation of blockchain technology. We are leaving no stone unturned by devoting our attention to the retail payment-space sector as well.”

Opportunities Through Blockchain Technology

Although Russia is set to carry out policies for a government-wide adaptation of blockchain technology by 2019, there are still reservations from traders and investors on using this technology. This is due to the lack of regulations and authorization boards in the blockchain industry.

To dispel these doubts, the RFTA supports the World Blockchain Summit. By sharing the latest trends in ledger-based technology, the association hopes it can raise awareness on the opportunities of blockchain so that more investors can fund technology-related businesses.

In a separate interview, Skorobogatova stated that the launch of Russia’s blockchain strategy has proven to be a game changer in the country’s financial development.

World Blockchain Summit Activities

The World Blockchain Summit is organized by Trescon, a global business events and consulting firm. Through the summit, the firm aims to connect blockchain experts and technology players, as well as emerging startups.
